Creativity, consciousness and consistency

The first attribute of God we encounter in the Bible is that He is a creator. We also read that He made us in His image and breathed His Spirit into us. We can thus assume that the Creator God has given us the attribute of being creators as well. I want to go as far as to say that each one of us has to use this characteristic to really be able to live out our unique purpose.Every job has the potential to be done in a creative way. I am currently busy using the “Konmari” method to tidy the house. Neatness is not something usually associated with creativity, and housework even less. Yet Marie Kondo, world famous “neatness specialist” has created a way to be creative while sorting out the house. She actually go as far as making it a spiritual experience as well, using the spiritual qualities of joy and gratitude to enhance the experience. She creates order out of chaos and go about it creatively. She sees it as her spiritual calling and enjoy creating systems that enable people to avoid living in disorder.

God also created order out of disorder. He made the earth habitable by creating the kind of environment that has certain systems. He created heaven and earth, land and sea, day and night, light to compliment darkness, living, breathing creatures in the sea and on land and plants. Lastly He created human beings in His likeness, to rule over the earth. God has given us the ability to use creativity while doing our work on earth. We know now from scientific discoveries that the universe keeps on expanding every day and I believe God wants us to also keep on creating greater and greater things, to fulfill our potential and to be a witness of how He still creates through us. We can honor God by living out our creativity and the act of being creative stimulates more and more creativity.

In order to be able to be creative, we first need to be conscious or “self aware”, we need to wake up to the fact that we need to create to be in alignment with God’s purpose for us. People who do not use their creativity are usually unhappy and directionless and stuck. They look out towards others and things to make them happy, not realizing that true joy comes from within, from knowing what your unique attributes, talents, values and gifts are and to use it to keep on creating. Of course their are people who choose to use this inner “tool kit” for purposes that does not glorify God. Since God has created us with free choice, they are able to use their creativity to be destructive.

Every body has been created with their own tailor made unique capacity for creativity in different fields. It is thus crucial to know yourself and what your capabilities are and to start living them out consistently. Focusing on what your unique way of doing and creating in your area of work is. Hone your skills and have the courage to keep on breaking new ground and get better and better at what you do every day. just like the rest of creation expand every day.

In order to be consistent, you have to create order for each day. it is in your power to structure each day so that you can live out your creativity to the fullest. In order to reach goals in your work you need to have a plan and the plan has to consist of systems that you can use to complete action steps, to reach mile stones, which are goals within your goals and to complete your goals, before structuring even greater goals. You have to order your day according to certain patterns. These patterns when repeated consistently will help you obtain your goals.

Before you set goals, you need to know who the person is that you want to become through your actions. What is your unique purpose? What is the field you need to do your creative work in on this earth? You need to know your true self. The self that is infused by God’s Holy Spirit. If you know your purpose, you can imagine your identity. By repeating the actions every day that are the attributes of the identity you want to become, you will start fulfilling your potential and become the person you need to be.

God introduced himself to Moses as “I am what I am”. From this we can derive that God is always present and according to the Hebrew word “am” this also means He will exist in the future forever, He is consistent and always true to himself, true to his character and always “Himself”. He does not hide behind false identities, He is who He truly is. I believe the work we do here on earth helps to shape our true character and that we will continue our work as fellow creators of God in heaven. Once we have fulfilled our potential here on earth, we will be promoted to a new identity, we will be called by a new name, that will be inscribed on a white stone that we will each receive (Revelations 2: 17).

While we are developing our new identity which is shaped by working out our salvation and by the actions of doing the work we were born to do, we must do every thing to God’s honor and in service of others: ” Each one, as a good manager of God’s different gifts, must use for the good of others the special gift he received from God.” (1Peter 4:10).

God warns against inaction and not developing the special gift He has given to us in the parable of the three servants that each received a certain amount of talents from their master with the command to multiply it in Matthew 25. It is of cardinal importance for us not to “hide our lights under a bushel” or to bury our talents, like the servant with one talent did,but to use our talents and unique purpose to fulfill God’s will on earth. God threatens people who do this that He will have “the useless servant” thrown “outside in the darkness”, thus out of the presence of God.

In order for us to be able to do the work we must do according to the gifts we already have in us, we must not be afraid but be bold and courageous. Like Joshua who saw the possibility of conquering the land of milk and honey. I believe Joshua’s story is a guide for all of us to see the potential and the possibility in ourselves to use our gifts in such a way that we can conquer our fears and short comings, confident in who we are: The triumphant sons and daughters of The Master creator who infused each one of us with His spirit, so that we can have God like qualities that we can use to glorify Him while we build His Kingdom by our works. God gave us free choice to develop into who he wants us to be or to waste our potential and live a life of uselessness. He gave us the keys to His Kingdom: ” I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of heaven, what you prohibit on earth will be prohibited in heaven, and what you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven.” (Matthew 16: 19).

I urge you therefore to take action and to use the gifts God has given you to create work every day to His glory and to the good of others. If you have lost your true self, the identity God wants you to have to be able to be a fellow creator, underneath false identities that has been created by limiting habits and beliefs, find a life coach that can help you to overcome your fears and lead you to find your unique identity and purpose with which to serve God.
